SPARQ Updates PY 2011

SPARQ is unavailable - Tuesday, February 14, 2012
SPARQ has been shut down for quarterly processing.  We expect it to be available again in the middle of this week.  The maintenance scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 9, was postponed.  It has been rescheduled from Thursday, February 16, at 8:00 p.m. EST, until Friday, February 17, at 6:00 am EST.
SPARQ 5.3, DV Samples and Quarter 2 Close - Wednesday, January 18, 2012
SPARQ has been re-opened and Release 5.3 is now available, as are your data validation samples.

The only changes to the Data Validation utility are:
  • Validation will not be required for data element P26, Disability, when the reported value is “Yes, self-report.”
  • The Data Validation utility will no longer be visible to users whose only role is “Grantee Administrator.” A role of “Validator” should be added to the accounts of those people who need access to the Data Validation utility.
No new data elements require data validation. Details can be found in the Data Validation Handbook, which will be available within the next week or so atData Validation. The attacheddocument provides details about other changes made in SPARQ 5.3.
PY11 Q2 shutdown schedule - Wednesday, January 18, 2012
For the PY11 Q2 shutdown, we will proceed based on the following schedule:

11 PM EST, Wednesday, February 8
SPARQ will be shut down for non-DCS processing. All PY11 Q2 data should be entered into SPARQ by that time, whether via the Web DCS or the non-DCS loader program.

Morning of Thursday, February 9
SPARQ will re-open when all non-DCS submissions have finished processing. At this time, all grantees should take a final look at their DQRs. If any cross-grantee errors have arisen, please notify BCT at once so that we may help resolve these issues. No further non-DCS submissions will be possible, and it is strongly recommended that no additional data be entered via the Web DCS. Please use this time solely to resolve any remaining errors.

12 noon EST, Friday, February 10
SPARQ will be shut down for PY11 Q2 processing.

We expect that SPARQ will re-open early the following week.

Please review your DQRs at this time. As always, duration rejects are the most urgent to resolve, but a great many rejects will be resolved when CSA hours are entered.

For policy questions, please contact your Federal Project Officer and copy The Charter Oak Group at olderworker@charteroakgroup.org.
SPARQ is unavailable - Friday, January 13, 2012
As scheduled, SPARQ has been shut down for Q2 PY2011 processing and the implementation of SPARQ release 5.3.  We will notify you when it is available again.
SPARQ is now available - Wednesday, November 09, 2011
We are pleased to announce that SPARQ has been re-opened and Release 5.2 is now available.  You are now able to access your Q1 QPRs for PY2011.  Non-DCS submissions for the Q2 PY2011 QPR are also enabled.
The following changes were made in SPARQ Release 5.2:
The new URL for SPARQ is www.sparq.doleta.gov.  If you use the old URL, you will be re-directed to the new one.
The “Participants Who Have Reached Durational Limit” management report now includes participants who exited on their durational limit date, so this report can be used to analyze the status of all participants who reached their limit.
Architecture changes will result in the performance enhancements previously announced.  As a reminder, they include:
  • searches should return results more quickly;
  • reports, including management reports and QPRs, should generate and download more quickly;
  • users should not be logged out as often; and
  • background processes should be more efficient, so non-DCS submissions and overnight and weekend jobs should run more quickly.
SPARQ is unavailable - Friday, October 28, 2011
As scheduled, SPARQ has been shut down for Q1 PY2011 processing and the implementation of SPARQ release 5.2.  We will notify you when it is available again.
